synopsis

Based on the novel by Mario González Suárez, the film tells the story of Francisco, a 12-year-old boy who is victim of violence and abuse from his father, a dishonest and impulsive man. He lives with his two younger brothers in constant terror. To deal with their everyday fear, they make up a ghost that protects them. This imaginary world full of supernatural fantasies, allows them to escape disgrace occasionally. The children’s view on chaos and confusion produces a sometimes troubled, sometimes hopeful scenario in which Francisco tries to live out his childhood.
