Lola Sánchez, a young novelist who suffers from writer’s block, teaches and writes a column. She is assigned a piece on the Spanish Civil War and decides to portray Rafael Sánchez Mazas, a writer, ideological fascist and member of the Fascist party, Falange Española. Along with another 50 prisoners, he managed to escape execution with the help of an anonymous young soldier. Lola gradually pieces together this story, riddled with contradictions and enigmatic characters. Unwittingly, as her search progresses, it becomes clear that she is not only after finding out the truth, but finding herself as well.
